Ceramic Assemblies Functional Ornament in Ceramic 3d Printing

The research thesis for additive manufacturing (AM) in ceramics at Master of Advanced Studies at ETH Zurich 2021-2022 has focused on dry joint applications. The studies presented in this work address interlocking and dry-joint systems that capitalise on the freedom of 3D-printing. The prototypes described in this paper represent potential strategies for an overall integrated system that incorporates structure, performance, and formal expression. The case study of the following work is a shading non-structural self-supporting wall system in a discrete assembly with bespoke ceramic units and dry joints.
