Publicized private journey or privatized public journey
In a surrounding like the Adlisberg where the project is situated and where most spaces are private, the projects adds new public spaces in the form of a journey, which are highlighted through a specific lightning. This lightning was derived from the fascination of the controlled plants with the ball hedges, which were found in the front yards of the private villas, and with that, the spaces for the public become marked and visible.
The element of water comes up in every intervention, then the history of the neighborhood has the same development as the water: In earlier days, the water flowed from the forest through the area of the Adlisberg to the city into the lake, but it got more and more controlled and hidden. The same happened with the villa district: It got more and more privatized and developed into a border between the city and the forest and acts as a threshold between the two parts with its own character, while the forest and the city became more and more similar in its diversity of uses and density.
Through several interventions influenced by the flow of water, the project makes the inaccessible and lost part of the city accessible and tangible and connects again the city with the forest and give the space back to the public.
