VIUHKA Das Haus das mit mir wächst und schrumpft

Is there such a thing as a durable floor plan? That is the question that was guiding the research phase. Possible answers where found in various concepts of adaptability - may that be a room that can be added or subtracted from an apartment, a moveable element that will transform spaces depending on the use their inhabitants require, houses that expand with the seasons, or floor plans with rooms that are free of pre-defined functions, as to adapt with a society changing over time. Expanding the idea of adaptability upon a beautiful plot of land bordering the forest in the small, architecturally rich village of Gockhausen, was the starting point of the small housing complex VIUHKA.
