As you walk through the Triemligarten from Gutstrasse to Uetliberg, you experience a gentle exit from the city into nature. At the beginning, the path is straight, lined with trees and bushes arranged in a regular rhythm. The first fork in the road leads through the community gardens, which are now a complete part of the garden. They are bordered on one side by the Triemlibach and on the other by a fruit tree orchard. In the centre, a small garden house provides enclosed communal spaces, such as a winter garden and a storage room.

After the gardens, the path enters the meadow. The meadow is vast, there are still few trees in this part of the park and only the stream crosses the green area. The meeting point serves as a footbridge to the playground on the other side of the park. You can also take a chair in the pavilion and sit on the beach or at the large central table.

Then you take the path, walk a few more meters to cross the first small wooden bridge. The plaza, a large platform linking the path to the ping-pong tables and children’s games, is revealed on your right. The stream meanders between the flowerbeds. The meadow remains marshy until you reach the next bridge.

The trees are now more numerous, grouped here and there. You walk along the stream. A little further on, on your left, part of the lawn gives way to an organic garden, where various plants and herbs are planted in groups, while the stream forms a small lake in front of a wooden playground. Children play with the pebbles at the water’s edge.

A pergola can be seen about fifty meters further on. Some residents of the retirement home are sitting in the shade of the climbing plants, on deckchairs provided in the walls of the pavilion. You pass them, the path now runs along the water on one side, on the other it is bordered by the meadow. You now reach the source of the stream. The stream flows gently through a stone wall that forms a small promontory from which to admire the view of the lower park. In the distance the Bullinger skyscrapers can be seen sticking out of the trees.

From here, you enter the forest. The trees become more and more dense and you almost forget that you are still in the city.
